Adams spent Friday in Yantis, Texas at the beautiful Hidden Lakes Hunting Resort for our 2017 company retreat to unite the team. Our 2017 retreat was more about spending time together than about working together. As corny as it sounds, our retreat was designed for bonding to take place. Reconnecting as people, not just coworkers, is important. Getting the chance to develop shared interests and form personal bonds that strengthen Adam’s mission was brought to life. By building relationships, engineering teams can more easily work through obstacles and come to a rational consensus. We love our work, but spending time in person is what really makes Adams an outstanding team!

The team which is typically separated out into three offices; traveled to the beautiful east Texas countryside where they went head to head in a fun skeet tournament, lost their chips in a friendly poker tournament, shared a home-cooked meal with all the fix ins, then set their sights on the future of the company.

Our staff feels reinvigorated by the retreat and ready to conquer the world! Being together was a reminder of how talented everyone is on the team and how we are stronger together. We’re always reminded to be on our A-game to keep up with a growing industry and our remarkable clients that bring us first class projects.

Upholding Adam’s mission of giving back to our community, the Adams team in Tyler was privileged to partner with Joel Enge, founder of Kingdom Life Academy as well as former Tyler ISD's Teacher of the Year Award. The team helped him get one step closer to making his dreams become reality. Adams’ team members were honored to donate civil engineering plans and services and take part in a tremendous opportunity that will foster educational and personal growth for youth in Tyler, Texas. Rick Martindale states, “Our company’s mission was seamlessly executed. What better client to serve than the future leaders of our communities?” Site plans were donated to further their cause and build upon the donated 23 acres located at 2804 Garden Valley Rd. and North. You can join the efforts by donating a tax-deductible amount for enhancements to the school’s building. Learn more about Kingdom Life Academy and how to donate here .

We look forward to providing valuable insight about our engineering services with the community at large at the school’s ground breaking set for early summer 2017.

Adams LLC. stays connected to our communities through outreach opportunities, if you’d like to make Adams aware of an opportunity please email mktg@adams-engineering.com

Check out this article by local Tyler station KETK showcasing one of our recent projects, the Tyler Food Truck Park! Adams worked alongside our client, Carlo D’Angelo, to conceptualize the park layout and assist in the rezoning and special use permitting. Adams will also provide civil engineering and landscape architecture design services as part of the permitting and construction process. Our Tyler office plans to be first in line when the food truck park officially opens in Fall 2016.   ‪#‎ foodtrucks‬ ‪#‎ adamsengineering‬   ‪#‎ developmentconsultants‬   ‪#‎ planning‬ ‪#‎ landscapearchitecture‬   ‪#‎ civilengineering‬   ‪#‎ cityoftyler‬

One of Adams landscape architects, Sarai Akin, teamed with other female architects and engineers to mentor a group of Girl Scouts from East Texas for the annual NETX Cookie Box Creations design competition. This event pairs older Girl Scouts with women in the A/E profession to turn empty cookie boxes into a free standing structure. This years’ theme was “The Great Outdoors”. Our East Texas Girls selected archery for their structure theme. Starting in November, the team met regularly to take their project from concept to completion. They worked alongside mentors as they learned basic principles of architecture and engineering.

“It was truly a rewarding experience to work with these girls on this fun and unique project,” Sarai said. “Our girls were full of creativity and ingenuity! I was amazed at their work ethic and determination to see the project through. If they can pull this off at 11, 12 & 13 years old, just imagine what they will do in their future careers! I’m so proud of them.”

The competition officially commenced on Sunday, March 13 at the Dallas Galleria where 12 teams assembled their structures for the judges and public viewing. A HUGE thanks to Aqueous Engineering, Crosspoint Engineering, Barham Architects, Fitzpatrick Architects and Dietz Engineers for joining our mentor team and volunteering countless hours towards this project! We would also like to thank The Discovery Science Place for providing a great space for our meetings and Ewing Irrigation for donating supplies!
